Technology Characteristics as Predictors of Psychological Strain

Drawing on the work system misfit model, present research developed and tested a model consisting of three technology characteristics (usefulness, presenteeism, responsiveness) as antecedents, five techno-stressors (techno-overload, techno-complexity, techno-uncertainty, techno-invasion, techno-insecurity) mediators, psychological strain an outcome. A web-based survey questionnaire was utilized by surveying 163 employees from different financial technological organizations. Two contributions with practical theoretical significance were offered current research. First, this delivered new insights for organizations to develop their environments consequently, improve employees’ mental health. Second, short measure dynamic feature (i.e., that may be used scholars practitioners in broad Information Systems discipline.
